The purpose of the organisation is to promote and develop the ancient Chinese wisdom teachings of Tao Chan and to make them known to the public. Tao Chan is a school of Zen Buddhism whose most important concern is the self-knowledge and self-realisation of each person.
The aim of Tao Chan is the dissolution of human suffering through spiritual realisation. It thus promotes a deep understanding of human dignity, equality and freedom, regardless of nationality, skin colour or religion.
This also promotes and deepens the peaceful dialogue between religions, such as Christian mysticism and Eastern spirituality, and emphasises the similarities between religions.
The practical work of the association is pursued in weekly meditation. Twice a month, a meditation seminar is organised under the guidance of Zen Master Zensho.
